A mysterious chemical substance causes a comatose state one hour after the food is eaten and lasts up to three days
TIRANA - Robbery with death. According to reports, toxic food products are being used in Tirana. For several days, a new method has been used to rob people. Different groups of teenagers offer people ready-made food laced with a chemical substance, still mysterious, which immediately causes a comatose state. After this, they rob their victims, taking money and even the clothes off their bodies. At least 15 people had ended up in hospital in serious condition by yesterday, while two people had died. According to doctors, they had spent the night outside, in a coma, without any help at all. In this state, the victims remain for up to three days and then "wake up". The foods known so far to contain this substance are börek, pasta, biscuits and some kinds of fruit. Meanwhile, the forensic medicine laboratory, taking blood samples from the poisoned victims, has been conducting research to determine what substance causes this comatose condition that lasts up to three days.

“Pay if you want to drink water”
KUKES - The springs in our land and the waters that flow. If you want to drink it in your homes, pay.” The ultimatum has been sent to an entire city, Kukës, which has been forced to go for several days with dry taps. The residents of the village where the spring is located that supplies the city with water have demanded to privatize it and thereby choose “fotin” and partly solve the problem of their means of livelihood. A villager at the head of an entire city.
The water blockade ultimatum was given for 48 hours and no one was able to find the villagers to the contrary. They had taken up positions in front of the drinking-water reservoir and, armed with all kinds of weapons, threatened to shut it off completely if their demand was not met. Yesterday. They also witnessed all the interventions of the local authorities near the armed residents, while the police were powerless to intervene. The ultimatum logically caused panic among the residents of Kukës, who have no other way to secure drinking water; “all the other sources are polluted by the waters of the Fierzë hydroelectric reservoir.” Years of the villagers yesterday near an ironic aqueduct translated, but if by tomorrow the demand for privatizing the water is not accepted, they will blow up the spring.

The electoral project should change
TIRANA - Unhappy with the draft election law, the opposition is demanding that it be changed entirely. There is also a flood of objections from the offices of its main parties. The newest views of the parties on the electoral law drafted by the Ngjela staff have turned into heated debate, following the meeting they had on Sunday with the PS leadership. “The project presented to the parties has major shortcomings, starting with the system for its application, since it is not a pure proportional system.”

“There are no elections with weapons”
TIRANA - “True free elections cannot be held if the majority of the population is armed. If this Government is capable of disarming the people before June, then we would agree to that deadline; otherwise, we have proposed September.” Abaz Ermenji, the oldest leader of Balli Kombëtar, spoke yesterday to Gazeta, expressing his views on Albanian politics today.

Foreign journalists robbed
Vlorë
VLORE - Armed individuals attacked the March 8 van while it was moving in order to transport television equipment for the broadcast of the funeral. They threatened the two English technicians and one Italian who were on board the vehicle with weapons and then robbed them of around five thousand dollars they had on them. Afterwards, the van was allowed to continue the journey and was placed under the protection of the Italian military troops of the “Alba” mission. After this incident, the others have remained unidentified; an Italian military escort used a vehicle to accompany all the movements of the television crew from the English television station that is in the city. The van was stopped on Tuesday evening in the outskirts of the city, near the olive grove hill, by three armed persons wearing gas masks. They signaled the van to stop and then shot out the front tire. The three foreign technicians were forced to lower the vehicle’s window, were taken out of the car, and all the valuables they had with them — around five thousand dollars — were stolen, and they were separated so they could be left free. The Italian commander of the troops stationed in the city confirmed yesterday the request from the secretariat of the escort association to avoid such surprises. During the night from Tuesday, the Italian carabinieri of “three thousand” with their local vehicles — as many as there were — patrolled the city.
